Garlic has become for a few days, and as every year, the undisputed protagonist of Castrojeriz. On the last 19th of July, the XXXV Garlic fair of Castrojeriz was inaugurated, with a set of recreational and cultural activities where garlic is the main element.
Preparation to peel Garlics
The most memorable activity has been, as always, the knitting garlic competition, something much more difficult than it might seem to be. It consists of braiding 30 heads of garlic with reeds of the river under the watchful eye of a jury of experts, who value the ability and the final result, and last but not least, the speed. Nevertheless, quality is the most important element above all!

For visitors, it is a very strange and unique fair where, besides visiting the village, they discover all the peculiarities of garlic and its history.
Preparations Garlic Soup
As it could not be otherwise, the garlic-related activities have complemented with stalls of objects and artisan products, dances, meals, free tasting of soup and chicken with garlic and the always-anticipated final dance, where the most lively enjoy the party.
