Castrojeriz is placed in the western part and in the western area of Burgos, in the limit with Palencia’s province, a region at 16 km from the highway N-620 Burgos-Valladolid and at 11 km from the Highway of Burgos-León. Due to being located in a geographical area of Burgos’s Province with few logistic influence, we can clearly notice the relative abandon and little care of it’s ways and roads.
Its old quarter, placed in the average height of the mountain, forms one of the longest urban tracings for which it passes of “El Camino de Santiago” with almost a kilometre of length.
In past times, the old quarter of the town was a very important area which gave the opportunity for the establishment of monumental churches, three convents and hospitals appart from hotels, inns and important business centers in which abundant worn viandas of overseas were expended.
